šŸ—ļø A Stadium in the sky

Plus: Free Stuff!

Hello Fellow Engineers!

Today, weā€™re diving into a World Cup stadium that Saudi Arabia plans to build 1,100 feet above the groundā€”inside The Line! And if you're a fan of free stuff (who isn't?), stick around because Iā€™ve got an offer that I wanted to share with you early.

Letā€™s dive into it šŸ‘‡

šŸŽ Free Stuff!

As a newsletter subscriber, I'm giving you an early heads up (because I really don't want you to miss out on free stuff!)

When my video goes live at 5pm BST this Saturday, if you use code BOOSH on Gamer Supps you will be able to try their free energy drink samples with completely free worldwide shipping.

The offer is only available for 24 hours because it's going to cost them an absolute bomb to do this promotion, so if you like free stuff and are interested in their energy drinks then make sure you don't miss out!

šŸ‘·ā€ā™‚ļø Truss Me, Iā€™m an Engineerā€¦

So, letā€™s talk about Saudi Arabiaā€™s mega ambitious, borderline sci-fi plan for the FIFA World Cup 2034. Picture this: 15 state-of-the-art stadiums spread across five host cities, including NEOM, the city thatā€™s literally a straight line. Yep, theyā€™re building a stadium in THE LINEā€”because apparently, kicking a ball around just isnā€™t exciting enough unless itā€™s happening way up in the sky with some killer views.

And, oh, did I mention NEOM Stadium will be running entirely on renewable energy? Thatā€™s right, itā€™ll be powered by wind, solar, and possibly the sheer willpower of every engineer who looked at this and thought, ā€œYeah, we can totally make this work.ā€

Weā€™ll see how this unfolds, but one thingā€™s for sure: The 2034 World Cup is going to have some wild stadiums.

And of course, I already beat them to building THE LINE in Cities Skylines last year - looks like Iā€™m going to have to add a world cup stadium districtā€¦

Indie games are out here breaking storytelling rules and pushing boundaries because, unlike the big guys, they donā€™t have corporate overlords breathing down their necks. Take Minds Beneath Usā€”itā€™s a sci-fi game that ditches the space lasers to dive deep into relatable, everyday struggles in a dystopian world.

Itā€™s time for a Bridge Review!

Let's talk about the Cody Dock rolling bridge in Londonā€”a bridge that looks like it's having an identity crisis between being a hipster art installation and a futuristic transformer. The thing literally rolls out of your way when itā€™s done with you.

Now, itā€™s clever, Iā€™ll give it that. But it's also a bridge that makes you think, ā€œIs it going to flip me over and dunk me in the canal?ā€ Points for the sheer audacity of the design and a solid 9.5 for drama, but I'm docking some marks for not being able to press the "roll" button when architects happen to be walking across!

Final score: 8.3/10
