šŸ— ARCHITECT SIMULATOR?!

Plus: Some ancient roman engineering

Hello Fellow Engineers!

This week, we marvel at the Aqueduct of Segovia—an ancient Roman mic drop—and review a wavy bridge that’s basically an architectural mid-life crisis.

There’s also Paddy, the ball-obsessed dog, a chaotic $5,000 Amazon crate unboxing, and a strategy game where I barely survive a zombie apocalypse. Oh, and an Architect Simulator—because apparently, someone thought that was a good idea.

Let’s dive into it šŸ‘‡

šŸ‘·ā€ā™‚ļø Truss Me, I’m an Engineer…

The Aqueduct of Segovia (112 AD)

Let’s talk about the Aqueduct of Segovia—a Roman engineering flex that’s been standing tall since 112 AD without a speck of mortar holding it together. That’s right, it’s made entirely of precision-cut granite blocks that are so well-fitted, they’re practically whispering, ā€œGet on my levelā€ to every modern bridge.

Now, can you imagine if architects were in charge of this? ā€œWhat if we added a spiral staircase here, some unnecessary curves, and maybe a reflective glass facade?ā€ No, Karen, the Romans wanted water to flow, not Instagram influencers.

Engineering Feats That Deserve a Slow Clap:

  • Over 160 arches spanning 15 kilometers because why not go big?

  • No mortar. Just gravity, geometry, and pure engineering brilliance.

  • Still operational centuries later, proving Romans > modern plumbing.

So next time you marvel at ancient wonders like this, remember: the engineers built it to last.

The architects? They’re probably still arguing over where to place the amphitheater seating.

🤮 They’re releasing an ARCHITECT SIMULATOR!
Oh great, an "Architect Simulator"—because apparently watching them over-design and overcharge in real life wasn’t painful enough. Now you can play Architect Life: A House Design Simulator and stress over whether to go with marble countertops or something more pretentious. Engineers everywhere are rolling their eyes. Coming June 2025 to PC, PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch—because bad ideas need platforms too.

🤯 Engineers at EPFL have created RAVEN, a robot designed to mimic the way birds move.
Engineers at EPFL just dropped RAVEN, a robot that moves like a bird, because apparently, we're one step closer to robots judging us from the skies too. Check out the Reddit thread here and let me know—cool innovation or just an expensive way to make pigeons jealous?

šŸ¤‘ I spent $5000 on MYSTERY Amazon return crates...
Ever wonder what $5,000 worth of Amazon return crates looks like? Spoiler: it’s not good. Check out my latest video here to watch me go full chaos mode in Storage Hunter Simulator. Bad bids, bad luck, and yes—Bluetooth fueling tech is involved.

Paddy will literally do anything for a ball—even turn me into a human towel. Watch him leap into a lake like the dramatic hero he is, then soak me completely

šŸ‘¾ Indie Game of the Week:

Indie Game of the Week is here, and this one’s a nail-biter!

In Defensurvivor, I struggle to talk, think, and survive all at once as zombies relentlessly attack my bunker. Watch as I upgrade walls, merge troops into unstoppable units like flamethrowers and minigunners, and still nearly lose to flying bosses.

Spoiler: My base barely survives, and I might need a lie-down after this one.

Check out the madness here, and if you’re up for the challenge, grab it on Steam: Defensurvivor.

It’s time for a Bridge Review!

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the engineering wizardry that went into the Ruyi Bridge—a wavy, futuristic marvel suspended 140 meters above the Shuangxi River Gorge. It's got three undulating, ribbon-like walkways, glass panels for added drama, and somehow doesn’t look like it’ll collapse into the foggy abyss below. Bravo, engineers, bravo.

Now, on to the architects. I’m convinced they looked at a normal bridge and said, ā€œWhat if it was squiggly... for no reason?ā€ Thanks for giving every acrophobic tourist a mild heart attack. At least the engineers made it sturdy enough to survive the wobble-fest.

Pros:

  • Stunning design, courtesy of engineers.

  • Triple walkway = more space to avoid tourists with selfie sticks.

  • Bonus points for glass floors—terrifyingly fun.

Cons:

  • The wavy design is the architectural equivalent of, "Look, I’m quirky!"

  • Let’s be honest, it’s really just a bridge with a mid-life crisis.

Final Verdict:
Ruyi Bridge is an engineering masterpiece that architects tried their best to ruin but thankfully failed. An 8.7 for making us feel like we’re walking on clouds… while praying the architects didn’t have too much say in the structural integrity.

Score: 8.7/10
